Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are the physicians at Londonderry Pediatrics accepting new patients?
A: Yes! Drs. Houston, Peterson, Gruchot, Desena and Hajduk are all accepting new patients. Just give our office a call at 437-1003, and we can arrange your first appointment. If you are expecting your first child, call us, we can schedule a prenatal visit where you can meet your doctor and get a feel for our office.

Q: How often will my baby be seen in the first year of life?
A: After birth, the first scheduled appointment is within the first two weeks of life. Subsequent visits are at two, four, six, nine, twelve, fifteen, eighteen, and twenty-four months. Visits are yearly after two years of life. Prior to leaving after a wellness visit, we will schedule your next visit with your doctor or have you fill out a reminder card that we will send to you a few months prior to needing a visit scheduled.

Q: Do I need to bring anything special to a well child visit?
A: Bring immunization records and your current insurance information. Urine specimens are not needed, unless otherwise instructed.

Q: How often will my child get to see his pediatrician?
A: We strive to have each child seen by their primary care provider at each and every visit. There are, of course, times when that provider may be away from the office, and in that instance, an appointment would be scheduled with the next physician of choice.

Q: If my child is sick, will you call in a prescription over the phone? A: In this world of increasing antibiotic resistance, proper management of antibiotic use is imperative. We want to make sure that we are treating a specific ailment that will improve with antibiotic use, therefore, we like to make sure all children seek medical attention prior to being prescribed an antibiotic.

Q: What should I do if I am away on vacation and need a pediatrician?
A: Of course, if your child is seriously ill, calling 911 is the most appropriate action. That being said, even if you are on vacation, you can call our office at (603) 437-1003, and one of our pediatricians will return your call.
